Unfortunately, you are SOL as far as that check goes. You are responsible for the amount of the check, and any bounced check fees you received as a result of it. Your bank may be willing to work with you on some of the fees, but not the amount of the check.

I know that you know this, but the first step to fixing your financial problems is to get a job. There are groups out there that help women in your position, start looking online in your area for one.

Good luck hun!

There is nothing that anyone can do. You should contact the police and tell them what happened. They wont be able to get your money back but maybe it will keep you out of jail for cashing a fraudulent check. Check out www.419eater.com Someone might be able to help you there. Look around and become more aware of 419scammers and also see what we do to try to keep scammers from innocent people.

I can't believe that people still fall for that scam. You owe the money to your bank and please downsize your lifestyle. If you can't afford a car payment then buy a used car for cash. There is nothing wrong with doing that. And it will cost a lot less in insurance as well.

The only other option I can think of is bankruptcy. There is nothing that any government or agency can do for you.
