I claimed bankruptcy last year and I tried to find out the information on the debt then and the company could not find any record of it. I received a credite report by mail that the company still is owed. Is there anything I can do to resolve this headach?

2 Options:

1) If it was included in your bankruptcy then you can dispute with the credit bureaus to have then change the reporting to "Included in Bankruptcy"

2) If it wasn't included in your discharged debts then you are still liable for it.

You can try and dispute via the #1 strategy but it is likely that they will verify that with the creditor.

Good Luck

If it wasn't part of your bankruptcy- you will have to pay it to get it off your credit. You can generally settle old debts for about half what is owed on them though.
