I have just started an online business and at the moment, my site is only accepting Paypal payments. However, I want to extend this option to also include credit card payments. Can anyone advise me on what service is the best?

I have been doing business online for some time now and when I started, I was exactly like you. However, while my business was doing really, I discovered that I was loosing a lot of sales because I only gave potential customers one option to pay. Anyway, I did a number of searches online, asked a number of questions - just like you :-) - and I was directed to the following page:-

http://www.smartecredit.com/accept_credit_card.php

I eventually signed up for the service offered there that enables me to accept credit card payments online. I did this about four months ago. All I can say is that was the best move I have made since deciding to start my own business.

Within the first month of using the service, my sales figure increased by 40%. Now, my sales figure stands at about 120% over what it was when I was only using Paypal.

So might I suggest that you do the same. The page is:-

You have to sign up for a merchant account with a credit card company OR use a service such as PayPal. Merchant accounts are expensive, and you pay fees each month whether anyone buys stuff from you or not. Your best bet would be to go with PayPal. You can read about it and sign up here, but you're going to need a checking account AND you're have to be 18 or older to open an account. There is no way you can accept credit card payments if you're not 18. To use PayPal to get paid for selling stuff, you need to be verified, and you'll need a checking account or a credit card to do that.

With paypal you wont be able to increase your sales it will be limited up to a certain stage only. There are many other online payment options you have to put each one of them or atleast credit card option to increase your sales. You can also have a merchant account. You can make some search on yahoo or google to know about more other options.

I use pay pal for all my credit card transactions for eBay. It is easy to set up just go into your pay pal account and find the link for accepting credit card payments. Also make sure you have set up a merchant account. You may have to convert yours to one if you did not. Then it is 100% secure...been using since 2000 and never had any problems with security.
