Oh boy..... lots of bad information here!

The correct answer is........ It stays there forever. I'm 56 years old, and my bureau still shows an auto parts store I worked at in 1979.

Most people don't worry about it because it has nothing to do with your credit score. But, if it is bothering you, the good news is you can have it removed. Just contact the 3 reporting agencies, Equifax, Transunion and Experian and they will take it off.

You should look at each of your reports to see what is there. Federal law now allows you to get free copies of your reports as in one of three ways:

Call toll-free: (877) 322-8228

Go online to www.annualcreditreport.com

Download and print an Annual Credit Report Request Form from the Federal Trade Commission's website at www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/include/requestf… then complete and mail to:

Annual Credit Report Request Service

P.O. Box 105281

Atlanta, GA 30348-5281

There are NO fees, costs or other obligations for reports through these sources.

some thing may be incorrect the following. credit reporting organizations will rfile all of your criminal names, so do not problem about what 'order' they are in. Your document will be got here upon once you retain on with for credit. of challenge is that you had no complications for years utilising your married call, and without notice you've lenders that imagine you flow with suggestions out of your maiden call. per chance someone is utilising your previous call to adhere to for credit. you're able to examine the prospect that your identity is getting used fraudulantly.

To actually answer your question, employer information can show for several years depending on if you applied for credit and listed the employer on your application.

My credit still shows previous employers form over 15-years ago.

The general information section which includes your employer name, is input by creditors from credit applications. The info is often incorrect and outdated. It has no impact on your credit or score.

Employers don't normally show up on your credit report. Typically the only places that will be listed are places that you opened a line of credit with (in other words, places you got a loan from, or got a credit card from, or tried to get a loan or credit card from).
