I have also received this email. It is a scam, the place does not exist. DO NOT give your details. I believe they are getting peoples information through seek, under many different job advertisements. Make sure you read through every single bit of info on the job advertisement, and if it sounds like a scam at first... go with your gut instinct, you're probably right!

hey i got that email too-administrative assistant, $1300 a month, around $10-$12 hours per week. like some of the others who have answered this question, i have also been desperately searching for a job. yes, that's right-through seek. the email was pretty messed up and didn't offer substantial information. the proposition offered in the email was too good to be true. so i googled the 'company' or whatever it is and ended up here. yay for google and yahoo answers. and yeah, like someone else who posted here, i've been looking for a job since november and it's quite depressing that the first 'real' offer i received was a scam. anyway, hopefully more people hear about this and hopefully this scam is not in any way associated with seek...

have you all applied for a job through seek or a job agency in the last week or so. I got this same email to an address that is used only for jobsearching (Which i have been doing for 2 weeks now). Very wierd.

In my opinion There is a job agency that is selling off personal information to others. I believe that they would have been sent your resume as I have 2 other email addresses that I use for personal and business and neither of them has received this email...

THE ONLY ADDRESS I RECEIVED THIS EMAIL TO IS THE EmAIL ACCOUNT I USE TO APPLY FOR JOBS. AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE ITS ONLY ON MY RESUME!

Hi, I am also from NZ and have been looking for jobs through Seek for the past 4 weeks. I haven't put my CV online, I always try and send it directly to the company that advertises the job, unless I really have to apply through Seek, but my CV is not stored in my profile. I've only applied jobs with well known companies, so not sure how they got hold of my email address and supposedly my CV. The interesting thing is that they only have my first name (no last name) but in the Seek website I've registered with my full name.

The email from "Pascal" has already been deleted but I did a google search just in case and found you guys, so thought I put my 2 cents worth hehe

Hope nobody has sent any bank details nor ID details, it does seem like a money laundering scam and maybe identity theft as well, so stay clear of these scammers!

Good luck to you all finding a job, I know I need it!

Hi there,

I work for SEEK and will try and provide some answers to your questions as I work within the Compliance Team.

I can confirm that your details were not accessed anywhere on SEEK's database and the emails you are receiving sound a lot like spam emails purporting to be connected to SEEK.

Usually these spam emails contain details of a "job" that involved transferring money on their behalf. We want to warn you that this clearly appears to be a money laundering scam and fraudulent offer. Please do NOT reply to the email you have received and do NOT under any circumstances provide your bank account details.

The company has not advertised with SEEK they are purely attempting to use the SEEK name to appear more legitimate.

How does this happen I hear you ask. Generally, email addresses are harvested by spammers as your registrations or other web based transactions pass through web servers -- they have viruses planted within these servers and these detect email addresses that have been entered into a web based form. The information is extracted and then emailed onto the spammer.

Remember never to give your banking details to anyone online and remain vigilant as a jobseeker.

I hope this helps to clarify things for you all.

I checked my email 1/2 hour ago and thought I had got a job. But then I couldn't remember giving my resume to a person called Pascal. And I have never heard of Bid Winners Int. I thought I'd click on the website to check it out and what do you know... it doesn't work. hmmmmm. Then I found this yahoo site, thank god cause there are heaps of people in the same boat which has just made me delete the email and forget about it.
2008-02-03 20:46:21 UTC
Ok guys where do I start.. If you receive an email from someone you don't remember contacting or personally know then move it into your junk folder or mark it as spam and if you don't have the tools to do this then delete it.... Don't waste time on these guys they come and go. The

@bid-recruiters.com emails are known to be part of an advertisement for work on seek.com.au how do I know because I applied for the job, gave a sandbox email that I have for these things :P and did not send a resume. They did however send me the reply 'Thank you for your desire to work in our company and for you resume you sent to us.' ????????? Besides the fact I didn't send a CV, has anyone noticed the bad spelling? Anyway i think I shall have some fun with them ;P.......

Hey guys. My girlfriend got the same email a few days ago also. She asked me to take a look and I picked it as a scam instantly and reported it as such in Gmail. However, I was indeed curious as to where this email came from as she has also been searching for jobs recently, and I was even more surprised to find only this thread with so many recent results.

I know Seek have popped in here on page one of the thread to say that this has nothing to do with their service whatsoever, but the fact of the matter is that my girlfriend has only published this particular email address on Seek. There are also plenty of people on this thread reporting exactly the same thing.

My advice is to delete the email and move on, you can obviously see that this is a fraud. I just wanted to check in and put one more confirmation in here of receipt of this scam email. More importantly, if Seek are indeed monitoring this thread, I want to let them know that even though their PR person things nothing is wrong, it would seem that something has gone awry somewhere and needs to be investigated and fixed.

It really is amazing how many of us have received this email. I ask you all to think when reading the first paragraph; How could you receive a job offer without an interview VIA EMAIL? I saw it in my spam box in my gmail account and thought perhaps it was one of the places I'd applied to saying that they had received my CV. But the rest made no sense; all to vague to be real. Thank the Lord for Google search! I am now running an anti virus scan on my computer, and surprise surprise i have a tracking cookie!!

I suggest you all run the same scan on your computers.

Also, I have half a mind to contact A Current Affair and Today Tonight just for the fun of it...

I was in doubt that time, so I try searching there bullshit website-----not even exist.( www.bidwinners.net ) Thanks Google search & Yahoo, now I know this is a scam..... I will nowe delete this bidwinners email... be vigilant on the job applied for.

This is so ironic, it's kind of funny really. I mean I've been applying for jobs for weeks now, and the first positive reply I get turns out to be a scam. But I have to say I am glad I'm not the only one, or I would have emailed "Pascal" back to find out more about it. I too, sent my CV through Seek, but I'm from New Zealand. Did anyone else from NZ get an email from them?
2008-01-31 23:38:35 UTC
I cant believe how many of us got sucked into this scam. Until i found this sight I too almost fell victim to these criminals. I just received my second email today stating that the company has been in existance since Jan.2008???? Hello, can't have built up a good rep huh? Decided to search on company and what do you know.....it is total B.S!!! This sucks that people like that actually prey on people like us who are looking for an honest job. I just sent them a email back telling them what I thought and that I also reported them. Karma will get them!!!!!! Hope its a lot sooner rather than later!
2008-02-04 06:08:28 UTC
Well guys I'm also from Australia and i got this email too.

I think we've established that the only way they could've got our details is through Seek. Lucky for us then, that I've only applied for a single job: ACTORS EXTRAS MODELS WANTED: Advertiser: BBMA.

This company has been advertising for the same job regularly for I would say about a month.

Now that I look back on the job ad, its quite vague, and a quick google search shows this so called company to be a talent agency owned by someone called Ziemowit Warchalowski..... o.O WTF.

It's got scam written all over it, but I have no idea what to do about it. Suggestions?

Hey guys I just received an email exactly the same as what you guys have received. At first I thought it's for real, but when I search the mentioned company it come up with this yahoo answers and by then I agree it is scam. No wonder why the message was sent to junk mail of my Microsoft Outlook.

What do I do next how do I report this to seek? Do this scam people get any of my personal information? Thanks guys

Do you know how you got onto their email listing? I "applied for a job" through a well renowned job search website to an agency as a trainer, then I got an email offering me a job as an administrative assistant on great money. Not emailed from the address that I sent the resume to... Not sure. I'm wondering what job I actually applied for now... Keep me posted if you hear anything more, and I'll do likewise.

I have arrived home to the email as well. Probably two points to make - the email contact is using a GMail address - I recently replied to a job advert as a housekeeper advertised in the local newspaper and the person at the end of this recent email also uses a GMail address.

I also emailed a set of questions using a GMail address that I created and received no reply to those questions.

Hey Sevda.

Came across U'r Quest as I was asking the same thing. Just got the same E-mail. Tried getting on to E-Bay 2 get their feed back as Pascal Kistlern clams to work through them but couldn't find anywhere 2 ask if they knew of that person or Bid Win Inc.

Sounds 2 good doesn't it.

I haven't been able 2 log onto or even find a trace of "bidwinner.net" or Bid Winner Inc on any search engines. Found "Pascal Kistlern" referrences but only in Sweedish. ???

Please let me know if u confirm this offer as genuine but untill then I'd stear clear.
2008-02-01 16:48:45 UTC
Yes i recently got that email i was like YES i got a job, but then i was like where the hell is it? I didn't even apply for it, then i thought i'll search the name and see where it is and thank goodness i found out its a scam early on. I replyed to the first email but now i know not to have anything to do with it.
2008-01-31 23:58:15 UTC
Yes, I received one of these today AFTER logging on to the Australian job SEEK site sending my updated temp resume to (3) agencies for more government EA work. I am annoyed as, being tired and awaiting responses from agencies, read the email and replied saying that I have not ever applied for any permanent positions nor over the past few years private work.

Now I have had to copy my files onto disks, delete all pictures of my daughters modelling portfolio, delete all of my documents in the event they are currently hacking into my computer.

I phoned the AFP and Google to report "Pascal Kistlern" alias whomever and reported he/she to the Bidders Net which would not have any relationship to Pascal anyway.

I suggest to anyone that if you have responded with a query and then afterwards a lecture to this Pascal, that you then copy all files on to your cds, delete your folders and pictures, and then change your email address/identification with your current provider as I am about to do.
2008-01-31 21:44:33 UTC
I also received this today. I have recently applied for jobs through Seek, but have been using other agencies as well. I'm pretty annoyed that one of them has been providing my details to scammers like these. I've just emailed Seek to tell them what's happening and asked them to get back to me. I also directed them to this page in case they need any more details. I'll post again if I hear anything.

At least one positive thing about this is that most people are pretty clued up nowadays and know to research things like this before getting involved. I dread to think how many people have been conned by this!
2008-01-31 20:54:44 UTC
ok the way this scam works is this. You as employee of these criminals receive money into your bank account for payment of some item or another, could be anything. You are then told to send the money on to the criminals supposed head office. If you dont they will sack you as they will suggest that you are dishonest .. so yr sacked and of course you dont get paid the supposed salary

Ok so you have sent the money on to them. suddenly the supposed payee or the person who first sent you the money STOPS THE ORDER and takes his money back. meanwhile you have sent the money on to the thieves. You try and get your money back from them but they dont answer your emails

You are left out of pocket and feeling like your dishonest, a thief, pretty stupid for being conned

My suggestion is dont even reply if they cant provide a phone contact number.. and ring it then check it out on the web

I have an idea of how they get email addresses in Australia however I could be wrong so I wont publish it here

I answered an ad on Seek, it looked like any other serious ad, however the response came from Switzerland and was just too good to be true. I was advised that I out of all the applicants had been chosen for the position of Administrator without an interview or any address of the business, and that certainly seemed suspect to me. I asked them NOT TO CONTACT ME AGAIN and deleted the email

Hi all, I got this scam mail just now from the id: pascal.kistlern@bid-recruiter.com and they said reply to pascal.kistler@gmail.com - same $1300.00 and 10-12 hours per week!!!

I did a mailbox search for bid-recruiter.com to check if I had applied ...But no!!! I have never applied with them. Then how did they get my ID? So it is a scam!!! I also did a Google search for this domain name, it does not exist and i got this yahoo answers post as a search result. Thanks. Thats why Iam here!!!

Also I apply with NZ/OZ job sites only. So the spammer must be preying on these sites.

So I say, first do a search in your mailbox with the sender's domain name as keyword. The results retrieved will tell if you have applied for this before through a job site. If the result is negative, go and do a Google search with the domain name as keyword, you will get the true story!!! To conclude, before replying to job mails always perform a search on your mail box with the sender's domain as keyword.

2008-02-03 22:25:52 UTC
Hi, isn't it funny that seek go..."Oh no, we wouldn't give our your email address"...maybe not knowingly....

But can someone add 2 and 2 together and tell us how all of us here have just applied for random jobs through seek and these spammers have gotten our email addresses??????

So allegedly these scammers would have to have placed up legitimate job adverts costing $165+GST each. I know myself that I dont apply for crap looking jobs... By the way I am applying for IT Manager positions in Melbourne and I got the scam email too!

Lets consider another fact... there are gramatical issues in the job offer email that we are sent. All the jobs I apply for on seek I read and re-read and I would certainly notice crappy grammar etc so I really doubt that the person(s) have actually gone to the trouble of posting up tons and tons of jobs and not being noticed in doing so..

Seek - I think you better check whats going on in your systems, maybe one of your staff is pinching email addresses and selling them to scammers....

hmmmm....

P.S. Seek - please keep your reputation and dont become another faceless, useless organisation like ebay purely because you guys dominate the market... We respect that you guys are good at what you do, we all use the damn site to find a better job etc etc! The other www sites are pretty useless... ever tried searching careerone.com.au for something simple like "IT Manager" in the melbourne area.... Give's you a whole bunch of unrealted jobs... I mean really why am I searching for a type of job again????
2008-01-31 20:35:49 UTC
Hello

I have received the same emails and have reported them to scam watch. I believe they are getting my details from Seek which is a concern. There were advertising jobs on Seek that I reported also, which look to be from the same people. I did not apply for the positions as they were very suspicious, therefore not sure how they got my email address.

If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is!!! :)

I just received one from the same company as well today! In the mail, they said that they are a world wide known company based in most country around the world. So, i decided to search on the web about that company before replying them if they are so "famous". Glad that i did so! I never heard of that company before and i don't think i ever send my CV to them too. Unbelievable how they got my contact details!

I just received an email from Pascal and wondered who in the world is that and I don't remember sending my CV to him. I thought wow this job is too good to be true. Anyhow, I decided to check out the website and I'm so glad I did because then I found out like many of you before me that this whole thing is a scam! I'm so grateful to find out now. Thanks for the question.

I just received the same email. Ive also applied to a lot of jobs, but nothing like this. As I live in Australia too i think that someone in an agency gave them our emails....
2008-02-01 00:29:11 UTC
Same. I just got home and found the same email and like others it sounded suspect so I googled to see who they were. I like others also found nothing but this sight. I also live in Australia and I've only recently started looking for work and have joint only 2 job seeking services, Seek and Jobs4you. I thought it would be safe giving my personal details to these kind of services but I guess it's not. Something needs to be done.

Is there anything we can do to report the Bid Winners Int?

2008-02-01 02:50:15 UTC
Yeah. Me too. Did you know that employers can search for people and contact them via seek? I know, as I have had to do this for the company I currently work for. And as for me, the only web site that I have registered with and put my details is seek.com.au. So there is a renagade using seek.com.au.

It's not seeks fault, or anyone elses. The scammer has just used seek as the intermediate and has probably been collecting emails for days! Just delete it and ignore it. The scammer is just "trawling for suckers". ;) Don't be one, and don't let it stop you applying for jobs. Life is a gamble, and sometimes you get bum hands. :)
2008-01-31 22:06:58 UTC
Yeah and another thing don't ever click on the embedded links in these types of scam e-mails as they are often doctored to take you somewhere other than where the link says and can take you to a site that installs malicious code on your machine. Just a warning if you receive any more in the future. Simply delete them.

yeah. i just got the email aswell. i was a bit confused because it didn't really mention what you were meant to do. on top of that, the name of the sender isnt the same as the name in the reply to gmail address, + there was a alot of grammatical errors.

i'm pretty sure it went thru seek, but its pretty dodgy. seek should do a review to sweep out all the bullshit piggybacking off its service.

I just got that same email. Ive recently been applying for a lot of jobs so when they said they had my CV I wasnt surprised at first. Then I realised I dont remember sending them anything. Plus their website doesnt work.

Dont trust emails with spelling or grammar mistakes in them, either.

got this email just before. i've also been looking for jobs via seek nz. i actually replied, but didn't give out any personal information. just demanded more information about who this was seeing as i never applied for any jobs administration jobs of this nature. had a funny feeling about this so i looked up the website - nothing - and this brought me here.

once you're saying you prefer to purchase it at a lower priced and you are not getting that lower priced i don't be conscious of what you mean, eBay is an public sale internet site, human beings checklist stuff on there with a low commencing fee to get human beings interested in bidding, generally (exceedingly with autos) the business enterprise has a reserve fee that they put in the known public sale to enable them to make confident it rather is not any longer offered except that fee is met or exceeded (shoppers cant see this fee it is going to easily say reserve no longer met or reserve met). as an occasion... if somebody grow to be merchandising a automobile on ebay and needed $5000 for it, they could initiate the bidding off at $2 hundred yet that doesnt mean you will get it for that, in the event that they positioned a reserve fee in of say $4000, it rather is the backside they are going to settle for for the automobile, ebay won't sell that automobile except the bidding gets upto or previous $4000. So if the known public sale finishes and in basic terms $1200 grow to be bid, it is going to say the object isn't offered. Ebay is risk-free for automobile auctions in case you be conscious of what you're doing and that i could advise phoning the business enterprise or viewing the automobile till now bidding etc. from time to time whether the known public sale ends and the automobile isn't offered via total reserve fee ingredient, you are able to touch the business enterprise, ask them what they needed for it and cause them to an furnish that way. in basic terms try this in case you're confident they're official and that i could advise back doing it head to head esp whether it rather is not any longer in the process the ebay public sale. you have somewhat extra back up from ebay (in concept) in case you do it by way of an public sale and a few thing is going incorrect, yet i nevertheless cant emphasize the significance of checking all the information first, any questions you ask the business enterprise, get information of the solutions, and that i could constantly elect to be certain the automobile first till now committing to paying for it online.

Yep me too, been using Seek for a couple of weeks now and suddenly get this email from 'Bidwinners'. What a load of rubbish!

The scariest thing is my email was only available in my resume.

I think its pretty crummy of Seek to allow this type of thing to happen. I reported it to them and i suggest you all do the same.

Yes I got it too! I've been applying for jobs through Seek too and didn't recall applying for this position. Thanks Kate from Seek for clearing that up and explaining how the scammers get our details. But is there any way that Seek can apply some sort of security to prevent this from happening? We need to report this to Dept of Fair Trading or relevant body!

Yep, I got the same one a few minutes ago too. Sometimes the scammers just generate email address randomly based on common names and such. Sometimes they can use lists gathered from machines infected with spywhere, say someone you know has spywhere...

i too received the same email, its b.s, coz i recently recieved a similiar email from a company known as quick drop, int..

both scams be careful,,. i am also lookin for work through seek, which is where they are getting our details from, make sure you google every email you get claiming you got a job, even the ones that sound legit. coz you just never know wat it really is

Heehaw!! It looks like these scammers have access to emails of those seeking jobs online. I got their email just after applying for a job online. I had my cvattached to the applications. I think thats why they use the word "name's cv"

SEEK is the only place that these scammers are likely to have gotten my email address. Severely peeved with SEEK.

Anyway, there's no www.bidwinners.net website, but there's www.bidwinners.com.

But they're USA's, and I live in Australia, how come??

so bullshit.

They're offering me administrative jobs or sort of..
