It should take no longer than a month. If it doesn't reflect it after a month you may want to contact the credit bureau and get them to look into it.

3-4 months to show that they're paid off.

DO NOT CLOSE YOUR CREDIT CARD ACCOUNTS!!!!!

every time you close an account your credit gets "dinged" 30 points!!

DO NOT open another credit card!! this will also ding your credit about 30 points.

having open accounts with a zero balance tells mr. fico that you are mature and responsible, and can handle credit. this is good!!

in a few years, if no activity has occurred on the cards, the company may contact you and say: do this or we're closing the account.

if you want to keep the card, make the necessary purchase, and pay it off the next month to keep the account active.

OTHERWISE, let the company close the account. this HELPS your credit.

depends on the credit card, but most report to the credit agencies every 3-4 months. However, you will not get an increase in your credit score, nor will they be removed from your report for at least 3 years. My husband had problems paying his cards before he met me and it took us 9 years of paying on time to completly clear our report. Always pay the minimum at least, open an extra credit card (like at Macy's or a gas station) and cut it up. Having more credit then you use will help the process

I think you miss understand. As long as you have the cards they are a "potential" liability. Paid or not, so will continue to show up on your credit report. That you are a person who pays on time is a good thing. Don't miss minimum payments. Pay it off early if you can.

Most creditors report to the bureaus every month, although the bureaus themselves may be a month behind. They should show as a zero balance as soon as they are zero. However, so long as they remain open for future use, they will continue to show on your report. Only when you call the card companies and close them (or if the companies close them on their own) will the clock start ticking for them to clear completely from your file.

I'm not sure how long it takes to show on your credit report. Check out www.suzeorman.com that may help.

BUT, if you closed your ccard account, they will send you a letter confirming the account is closed & that you have a "0" balance. You can then forward that to the 3 major credit bureaus.

relies upon on the reporting of the mastercard employer and the updating cycle of the credit employer - everywhere from a month to three months. you could positioned notes on your credit record so that you'll be able to observe that the debts were paid and closed on a particular date.
