It might, but I wouldn't bank on it.
- Your electronic transaction to your bank doesn't post immediately either.
- Credit card/debit card companies spend their lives trying to figure out ways to charge fees. This looks like one of them. Even if the charge doesn't post immediately, they know when the card was swiped and could backdate the fee.
- This sounds like the electronic equivalent to check kiting, which is illegal and risky.
I would suggest asking a buddy to borrow $50 for a day, or postponing your date until next week.

No...when the restaurant uses your debit card to pay the bill, it verifies that you have the $ in the bank at that point in time to pay it. If there isn't money in there, it is denied.
You deposit won't show on your account until Friday, so you won't have the money available until then.
The only way around it is if you have overdraft protection, then you will rely on that, but if you don't the bank will not approve the charge.
Sorry it is not better news!

It probably won't be denied if you're using credit on your debit card, but you'll get hit with a NSF fee if you use the check card with credit. Another evil bank trick. So get ready to pay an extra $33 for your fun.
