Me and a Friend want to know...I think they can take you to jail if you run off with it, but she thinks it will just hurt your credit....Can someone help us please, if you move and take the item with you and dont tell them where you are going....can you get locked up for this??

the contract will tell you that taking the item(s) away from the agreed location without paying off the contract in full [buying them] is theft, yes.

and yes, Aaron's does prosecute if you disappear with their property.

Possibly....maybe....Remember, these are not items that have been purchased with with credit cards, where if you default, you cannot be charged with a crime. In this case you are renting items that do not belong to you. If you take the items, criminal charges can be filed.

If you can't make the payments, return the furniture or whatever you are renting to them.

As long as your still willing to pay for the item, it makes no difference if you tell them where your new residence is. That's not stealing.

But not paying and trying to hide it is. Your renting to own, so until that last payment is made, that's Arron's property.

Arron's doesn't check your credit or report to the credit bureaus.

Aaron's? is that a rent to own company? If so......... Well one of my neighbors got picked up for trying to pawn a tv she rented from rent a center.......................................

And I have seen people in my county jail under the charge "theft of rental property" so I would say yes.
