You don't need to!

Although years ago bad credit history was linked to an address, and a person with bad credit living there could affect everyone else at the same address, it was stopped a couple of years ago as its was so unfair.

Now debts are only linked to a person, not to an address, and the debts move with the person. Anyone living at an address does not affect anyone else there, unless they are tied in some way like husband and wife.

Unfortunately, this means that there is something wrong with your credit. It may be that you simply haven't had much credit before, so you are an unknown quantity, or there is a mistake on your credit file, or something on there you didn't know about.

I would get copies of your credit file from both credit agencies, experian and equifax, to make sure the info on there is correct. If its not you can write to them and get it amended.

the only way an address can affect your credit rating is if oyu happen to share the same surname as someone else who lived there, or lives there, and they have a crap record. Problem if you name is smith, not so much if your name is acegikmoqsuwy.

if it is the surname thing you can get a note put on your credit files (with equifax & experian) distancing yourself from that individual. You can even do this if they are a relative living at the same address.

Other than that the problem could be you dont show on the elctoral register (remember when you ticked that "do no include me on the sold copy of the register" - ooppss not such a good idea after all). So you cannot prove you actually live at the address. Most banks etc, knowing that this happens a lot, have other procedures to let you prove where you live. (other bank accounts, utility bills that sort of thing).

Catalogue companies are usually over cautious of the address thing, so that may be your problem. Lots of previous addresses tend to make them jittery as well.

and then finally there is the "no credit history" thing. if you havent had credit in the last 6 years then you have a blank record. From a blank record no-one can see if your credit repayments are usually on time and so will not "take a risk" on you. Always worth having a credit card which you spend little on (petrol or food shopping) every monyth, and then pay off in full. No interest and lots of "000000" (meaning 0 repayments overdue) on your credit report showing you are a good risk.

Looks like you should get you Credit Report ASAP!

Apparently people who have been living at your address should not have influence in your credit rating, UNLESS if you have or have had joint accounts, this information and the other person's data is included in some credit searches. Including information from other people can negatively affect your score if there is derogatory information on their credit report such as defaulted accounts. If you believe that the people listed as associates on your credit report have no active financial link with you, you may complete a Notice of Disassociation.

BUT,

A bankruptcy at your previous address CAN and DOES AFFECT your credit rating! When a bankruptcy order is made, details of the bankrupt are advertised, including addresses at which he currently lives and trades, and previous such addresses. As a result, a bankruptcy order may become associated with an address, and if you live at such an address, you may experience difficulties in obtaining credit. This is because it may be assumed that you are the bankrupt with which the address is associated. However, you have the right to inspect information held by credit reference agencies and have any incorrect information changed.

Get your Credit Report Rating TODAY! My advise would be to get 3 credit reports at once (Experian, Equifax and Callcredit) for about £16 at www.checkmyfile.com . They contain different information in many ways, but you’ll have a full picture about yourself, by getting all of them.

Using a catalog credit card for a short while may lift your score enough that you will qualify for a regular bank credit card, and that could be a good enough reason for a short-term added expense. However, before venturing into the murky world of catalog credit cards, be sure you have the self-discipline to avoid impulse purchases, and educate yourself carefully about the terms and conditions before applying.

This is the best option for a reverse phone number lookup https://tr.im/721a7

Receiving a one or two hang up calls each month is probably nothing to worry about, but when those calls increase in frequency and if it happens in the middle of the night then you must do something to stop it, before it starts affecting your life. With the help of this services you can take away the one advantage these people have - their anonymity.

I have never heard of such a thing.

I suppose you could list your address as 1A Main St or

1 Main St apt #1 rather than the previous address of 1 Main St.

reverse phone number search compiles hundreds of millions of phone book records to help locate the owner's name, location, time zone, email and other public information.

Use a reverse phone lookup to:

Get the identity of an unknown caller.

Identify an area code.

Recall the name of a person whose number you wrote down.

Identify an unfamiliar phone number that shows up on your bill.
